Adaptiq Aluminum to build $150M Hamilton plant, adding jobs and clean energy capacity

An advanced manufacturing company plans to build a massive green aluminum billet remelt facility at Hamilton Enterprise Park, creating dozens of new jobs and hundreds more indirectly.

Adaptiq Aluminum produces sustainable, low-carbon secondary aluminum billets directly for domestic extruders.

“Powered by clean hydroelectric energy in Hamilton … our state-of-the-art 150,000 metric ton facility will produce the greenest billets in America, create 75 direct jobs (and hundreds more indirectly), and drive real economic resurgence,” the company said on its website. “This is American innovation at its boldest: revitalizing manufacturing, slashing carbon footprints, and securing a self-reliant future — one billet at a time.”

The project is an initial $150 million capital investment that will create a minimum of 65 jobs in the first year of operations and a minimum of $6 million in payroll, with the average salary being between $60,000 and $65,000, according to Hamilton officials

“Adaptiq’s decision to invest in Hamilton is a big win for our community,” Hamilton Development Director Aaron Hufford told Journal-News. “This project will bring good-paying jobs and a significant new investment to the city. We’re proud to have worked with Adaptiq to make this happen, and we look forward to seeing the company grow here.”

Hamilton City Council approved a caucus agenda item Wednesday, Aug. 12, that will see it vote next meeting on selling 31.5 acres at the corner of Hamilton Enterprise Park Drive and Tylersville Road to Adaptiq for the project at a price of $32,500 an acre.

The property is part of the 265-acre Hamilton Enterprise Park, which is owned by the city of Hamilton and is one of the largest industrial/office parks in the tri-state area.
