West Chester officials forecast up to $700 million in investment coming to property along Interstate 75
It was a slow bore of five years leading up to the news conference last October when West Chester Township officials announced they were taking matters into their own hands on what’s billed as a next-generation mixed-use district.
The 75-acre site, one of the best-located pieces of land in the Cincinnati-Dayton development corridor, lies at the northeast quadrant of the Interstate 75/Union Centre Boulevard interchange.
West Chester’s board of trustees voted unanimously Oct. 30, 2025, to buy it in a landmark deal for $18.3 million, tasking itself with oversight of the project that private attempts could not deliver.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to plan for growth that balances innovation with community character,” West Chester Township Trustee Ann Becker said.
The site has huge potential but plenty of challenges; prior plans failed to pencil for a reason. If the township can surmount them, it will have a development perhaps unlike anything else in the region, with a greenway around a creek bed, spanned by a dramatic pedestrian bridge, coursing through offices and high-tech research and development facilities as well as housing, retail, restaurants and a public square.
