2 Middletown housing developments receive key approvals to move forward

Two long-planned housing developments took significant steps forward Tuesday, July 21, after Middletown City Council approved final plats for both projects, clearing the way for developers to seek construction permits.

The approvals involve The Atticus, a 314-unit apartment complex planned near Atrium Medical Center on the city’s east side, and the next phase of Heritage Landing, a residential development featuring attached single-family homes near Lefferson Road and Audubon Drive.

City staff said council’s action allows both developers to move ahead with the permitting process and begin construction. The projects are among several residential developments approved in recent years as Middletown continues to see new housing construction across the city.
