An international manufacturer has secured local incentives to support a $9 million vertical expansion project that will create more than two dozen new jobs with approximately $2.7 million in local payroll while retaining nearly 100 existing jobs.

Hamilton City Council voted unanimously Wednesday, July 15, to approve a Local Job Creation Tax Credit agreement with the sheet metal machinery manufacturer Salvagnini America, providing a 55% credit for a seven‑year period.

Salvagnini America will create 28 new jobs with an approximate payroll of more than $2.7 million and retain 98 jobs at the facility at its Hamilton headquarters at 27 Bicentennial Court, just east of the Ohio 4 Bypass. The company will expand that structure to accommodate the growth, adding a second story and renovating approximately 13,000 square feet of existing space.

The total project investment will be approximately $9 million.

The local incentives follow state incentives announced in December for the project: a seven-year, 1.338% Job Creation Tax Credit with an anticipated total value of $230,000 if all job-creation thresholds are met, according to the Ohio Department of Development.

“Keeping great employers in Ohio and right here in Hamilton takes teamwork,” said Hamilton Director of Economic Development Mallory Greenham. “When Salvagnini needed room to expand, many other cities would have happily welcomed them. Instead of letting those high-paying jobs leave, the city of Hamilton worked closely with Jobs-Ohio and REDI Cincinnati to deliver a local solution.”

Greenham said supporting Hamilton’s existing business base “ensures our community thrives and maintains the income tax funding essential for municipal services.”
