Drugmakers plan $750M expansion in suburban Cincinnati, will create 400 jobs

Two major drug makers are expanding on a multiyear manufacturing partnership, one that will result in a $750 million investment in the region and hundreds of new jobs.

National Resilience Inc., a biotech and pharmaceuticals manufacturer, and Eli Lilly and Co., a global pharmaceutical firm, are expanding upon their partnership that began in 2023.

The companies announced July 30 that they will expand Resilience’s West Chester Township facility at 8814 Trade Port Drive to increase U.S. production of critical medicines. Site preparation is currently underway, with construction expected to complete in 2027.

Four hundred new, high-skilled jobs will be created at the West Chester facility to produce the KwikPen, an injectable device created by Eli Lilly, used to deliver medicines that treat diabetes and obesity, bringing the total Resilience-created jobs to more than 1,400 across its two Ohio facilities in West Chester and Blue Ash, according to a news release.

The investment also will allow Resilience to expand its advanced manufacturing operations in the region by supporting facility expansion, advanced manufacturing equipment, automation, production infrastructure and the people and systems required to manufacture the injection device.
