West Chester Township will spend a sum of $18.3 million to acquire a 75-acre tract of land with huge development potential.
The township’s board of trustees at a special meeting Oct. 30 voted unanimously in favor of the appropriation and land purchase, eyeing what’s described in a media release as a “next-generation mixed-use development” with a walkable layout and nearly 20 acres of public green space.
The site occupies the full northeast quadrant of the Interstate 75/Union Centre Boulevard interchange. It is bounded east by GE Aerospace offices and a pair of large apartment projects, one well underway, the other yet to break ground.
