West Chester Twp. is purchasing 75 acres at the northeast corner of I-75 and Union Centre Boulevard to create the Mill Creek District.
“This is an incredibly exciting milestone for West Chester Twp. This property is one of the most visible and well-positioned sites in the Cincinnati-Dayton I-75 corridor,’’ said Trustee Mark Welch.
He said the land is one of the few, large, undeveloped pieces of property zoned for non-residential uses in the township. By design 40 percent of the township’s 35 square files is zoned for non-residential uses and 60 percent for residential.
“It is located between thriving business centers, established neighborhoods and major transportation routes, making it ideal for development that supports both our local economy and our quality of life,” Welch said.
The township has entered into a purchase agreement with the landowners – who are remaining anonymous – for $18.3 million. Money to purchase the property is coming from a special taxing district.
