The city of Hamilton has approved a tax incentive agreement with an experienced private developer for its next large adaptive reuse project.

Hamilton City Council on Aug. 27 unanimously approved a resolution authorizing a Community Reinvestment Area agreement with developer Bloomfield/Schon for the $29 million mixed-use redevelopment of the Shuler & Benninghofen Woolen Mill.

The 100,000-square-foot former mill complex sits on 5.2 acres at the southeast corner of Pleasant and Williams avenues in Hamilton’s Lindenwald neighborhood.

Walnut Hills-based Bloomfield/Schon will own the vacant historic property through Mill 1893 LLC. Currently it is held by the city.

The firm plans to transform it into around 125 loft-style apartments and a 7,000-square-foot commercial space. The commercial space is intended for a tenant that has yet to be named.
