Indianapolis Developer Plans $124M Industrial Project in Butler County

Multiple public financing measures are in place for a $124 million development in Butler County.

The city of Monroe at its May 26 meeting voted to approve a pair of ordinances including a development agreement with Indianapolis-based Scannell Properties, a real estate developer specializing in build-to-suit industrial projects. The Monroe project, which goes by the name “Project Clear” in city documents, is a 390,000-square-foot food distribution facility with office space on roughly 100 acres of undeveloped land at 4850 Butler Warren County Line Road immediately south of Cincinnati Premium Outlets. 

The project, according to city documents, is expected to create 93 new jobs, generating $6.7 million in new annual payroll, and retain 127 existing jobs, retaining $9.1 million in annual payroll.

The Butler County Finance Authority at its May 27 meeting voted to authorize a capital lease financing structure including the issuance of $130 million in revenue bonds for the project.
