Butler County city and project partners have broken ground on the first phase of a large mixed-use development decades in the making.
Officials with the city of Trenton Nov. 12 put the first shovels in the dirt at the site of a new municipal complex and YMCA at Trenton Square, a 111.5-acre residential and commercial development on former farmland less than a mile from the city’s business district.
The new 50,360-square-foot city-owned municipal building will sit on 11 acres surrounded by green space in the heart of the development.
Elevar Design Group is the architect. Brandstetter Carroll is the civil engineer. Miller Valentine is the builder.
“This is a defining moment for our community,” Elevar’s Jonny Hofmann said in a media release. “The complex we’re about to build is not just another city building – it’s the new face of Trenton. For visitors and residents alike, it will serve as a welcoming landmark, a place that represents who we are and where we’re headed as a thriving town.”
