The city of Hamilton has a new upscale dinner restaurant.
On Nov. 3, Carmagnola Trattoria held a ribbon cutting outside its 24 S. Third St. location in downtown Hamilton.
The Italian-inspired restaurant, which is owned by parent company Jackelope Spirits, is the final phase of a $4 million mixed-use development that transformed a historic structure in the city’s business district. The more than 170-year-old building is also home to Jackelope Spirits’ coffee shop and cocktail bar the Grey, which launched in September, and eight recently renovated apartments run by leasing company Tandem Ventures.

“Carmagnola marks a pivotal advancement in Hamilton’s continued evolution, offering an elevated dining experience that enhances the city’s attractiveness to both employers and talent,” Joshua Smith, the President and CEO of the Butler County Finance Authority, told me. “As Hamilton and Butler County compete for new jobs and capital investment, amenities like Carmagnola play a critical role in fostering a dynamic environment where executives want to locate, employees want to live and businesses choose to grow.”
