Global manufacturer plans hiring spree, $28M expansion in Hamilton

One of the region’s largest manufacturers will make an eight-figure capital investment and create dozens of new jobs.

Thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America Inc., a manufacturer of shock absorbers and suspension systems with billings of $2.4 billion in the last fiscal year, is planning the project at its sprawling headquarters at 8685 Bilstein Blvd. in the city of Hamilton.

The total project investment will be roughly $28.1 million, according to documentation provided to the city of Hamilton.

The company in a July 13 media release announced plans to hire around 100 employees across multiple departments.

Thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America is the North American arm of Germany-based Thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology, a global Tier 1 automotive supplier of chassis, powertrains, battery assembly and steering systems. The parent conglomerate is Thyssenkrupp AG, with $33 billion in annual revenue.
