West Chester sports complex to host MLS youth tournament expected to bring $5.1M impact Main Photo

Major League Soccer and the entity that runs its nationwide youth academy system have selected a Greater Cincinnati sports park for a tournament in 2026.

Voice of America Athletic Complex in West Chester Township on April 10-13, 2026, will host the MLS Next Academy Regional Qualifier, which is a Midwest-wide event that will draw 170 academy teams from Ohio and many nearby states, as well as 22 teams from the Cincinnati region.

The West Chester qualifier is expected to bring an economic impact of around $5.1 million, adding to the destination tourism business that is the largest single industry in both Butler and Warren counties.

“This is a really big win for the whole region,” Tracy Kocher, president and CEO of Travel Butler County, told the Business Courier. “Thousands of participants, athletes and spectators will be there playing soccer on those fields.”
