Hamilton considering rail consultant to help city land Amtrak station

Hamitlon City Council will consider hiring a passenger rail consultant to give the city its best shot at what Councilman Mike Ryan said is a one-time only opportunity.
For the past couple of years, the city has been lobbying Amtrak and lawmakers to get one of the suburban stops in Hamilton for the new 3C+D line and the expansion of the Cardinal line. He said a $30,000 payment for a consultant that will tell them “everything we need to know” to get one or two stops is worth the investment.
