Impact
At one time, Champion Paper was the largest coated paper manufacturer in the world. Generations of Hamilton & Butler County families worked at this mill. The company's operations not only provided jobs but also spurred the growth of local businesses and infrastructure. However, the decline of manufacturing and changes in the paper industry eventually led to the closure of the plant, marking the end of an era and a significant economic shift for the region. Spooky Nook's adaptive reuse of this abandoned site has supercharged the local economy, and has squarely placed Hamilton, Ohio as a city on the rise.
